Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong dal 1 1/2 cup
  2. Bottle gourd or dodhi 1 , cubed
  3. Ginger crushed by mortal and pastel
  4. Panchphoron 1 tsp or whole cumin seeds 1 tsp
  5. Dry Red chilli 1
  6. Green chilli 2
  7. Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp
  8. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  9. coriander powder 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Salt
  12. oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick frying pan , dry roast moong dal until nice aroma comes out
  2. Keep aside
  3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker
  4. Add dry red chilli and panchphoron , saute for a minute
  5. Add bottle gourd pieces , fry them with turmeric powder and salt
  6. Add jeera and dhania powder , saute for 1_2 mins
  7. Now add fried moong dal and 2 1/2 cups warm water
  8. Pressure cook for 2_3 whistles
  9. Once the vapour is released heat the dal again to make it thick , add green chilli
  10. Check for salt , boil in medium heat for 7_8 mins
  11. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  12. Serve hot with chapati or rice
