Steamed Savoury Cake

Ingredients to make Steamed Savoury Cake

  • besan- 1+1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
  • sooji/rava- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp
  • Sour curds- 1 cup+ 1 tbsp
  • salt- 1 tsp
  • Chopped Green chilies- 2
  • ginger- 1 piece
  • haldi powder- 1 tsp
  • yeast- 2 tsp
  • oil -2 tsps
  • sugar- 1tsp

How to make Steamed Savoury Cake

  1. Bloom yeast first by dissloving sugar in 1/2 cup of warm water. Add yeast. Keep it covered for 15 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a bowl mix besan with sooji. Add salt, chillies, ginger, haldi powder and oil. Warm the curd in the microwave and add to besan mix.
  3. Now add bloomed yeast and mix well. Keep it covered for 15 more minutes. Beat again pour this in greased container. Steam it for 15 minutes.
  4. Cool & serve with green chutney & chopped salad of your choice. I have served with tomatoes, cucumbers & carrot florets.
