ABOUT MANGO PATISAPTA RECIPE

Patisapta is the traditional dessert of Bengal .Here I have added mango instead of coconut in this recipe to give a nice colour and aroma to the dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ripe mango pulp - 1 cup
  2. Semolina - 4 tabsp
  3. Maida - 1/2cup
  4. Rice flour - 2tabsp
  5. Baking soda - 1/4 th tsp
  6. Powdered sugar - as per sweetness of the mango pulp .
  7. Milk - 1 cup
  8. Ghee/ Refined oil - for tawa frying.
  9. For stuffing -- Khoya - 1 cup (crumbled)
  10. Ripe mango pulp - 1 cup
  11. Ghee - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl ,add mango pulp, maida , rice flour, baking powder ,powdered sugar and milk and make a smooth pouring consistency batter.If it becomes thick, you may add some milk. Keep it aside.
  2. Meanwhile prepare for the stuffing. In a low flame heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add mango pulp and khoya. Cook till it leaves the sides of the pan. Switch off the gas.Let it cool .
  3. Heat oil or butter in the same pan. Take one big spoonful of batter and spread it lightly with the spoon on a low flame. Spread little ghee or oil all round the patisapta .
  4. Now roast the other side.Place a spoonful of mango stuffing at the cantre and roll it. Likewise prepare the rest of patisaptas in the same process. Patisapta is ready to be served.
