ABOUT Gajar ka halwa RECIPE

This is one of the most popular sweet dishes or North India, made with carrots.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Carrots 2 kilograms
  2. Milk 2 litre
  3. Sugar half kg
  4. Khoya half kg
  5. Dry fruits ..almonds and cashew nuts [handful]
  6. 4 tbsp Pure ghee

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel and grate the carrots.
  2. Heat a heavy bottomed kadhai.
  3. Add grated carrots and milk to it.
  4. Let this cook while stirring it intermitently.
  5. Once the carrots are cooked and milk is little dry, add the sugar and give it a stir.
  6. Add the khoya and stir well.
  7. Add ghee and stir while it mixes with the cooking halwa.
  8. Fry the dry fruits in ghee [optional] and then spread them onto the halwa. Serve hot or chilled.
