ABOUT Tomato Paste Chutney... RECIPE

A super quick and a handy recipe for the busy weekdays. The readymade tomato paste has been put to use by me in this amazingly delicious chutney. It goes very well with plain rice, can also be eaten with any dry sabzi. Made in a jiffy, it is surely one of it's kind. Just a simple tempering and you are almost done.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Readymade tomato paste jar or polypack 1 (120gm)
  2. Garlic cloves sliced thinly 1
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  5. Coriander seeds crushed 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds (rai) 1 tsp
  7. Curry leaves few
  8. Dry red chillies 3 (optional)
  9. Oil or ghee 1 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the oil.
  2. Add the mustard seeds at first.
  3. After they crackle, add the dry red chillies.
  4. Next add the sliced garlic cloves and the curry leaves.
  5. Next add the crushed coriander seeds and the chilli powder.
  6. Crush the coriander seeds coarsely in a mortar and pestle.
  7. Now add the tomato paste.
  8. Give all a good mix.
  9. Adjust the salt accordingly and cover it.
  10. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  11. That's it. You are good to go now.
  12. Serve it with simple boiled rice and any dry sabzi of your choice.
