Kerala is known for its lip smacking dishes.Coconut oil and curry leaves plays a major role in most of the dishes.Here comes one among that lip smacking kerala special.Here im using pressure cooker to save time and energy with no compromise in taste.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 250 g Mutton
  2. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  3. 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  4. 3 tsp Coriander powder
  5. 4 Whole peppercorns
  6. 2 cardamom
  7. 3 cloves
  8. 1/2" cinnamon
  9. 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  10. 2 tsp fennel seeds
  11. 1 tbsp caramelized onion
  12. Salt
  13. Coconut oil
  14. Handful of Shallots, sliced
  15. 1/2 of a big tomato sliced
  16. 2 sprigs of curry leaves


  1. Dry roast turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder,whole pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds.
  2. Grind it with salt, ginger, garlic and a tbsp of caramelized onion.
  3. Marinate the meat with this paste.
  4. Layer your pressure cooker with 2 Tbsp of coconut oil as the base (Layer 1).
  5. Few tbsps of water as layer 2.
  6. Place sliced shallots as the next layer.
  7. Add tomatoes.
  8. Spread marinated mutton and 2 sprigs of curry leaves above that.
  9. Pour water over it. (Add according to the consistency of the gravy you need )
  10. Pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  11. Open the cooker after the pressure settles.
  12. Serve with rice,rotti,bread etc.
