ABOUT Red Apple Chutney RECIPE

This apple chutney is a great way to preserve apples. You can enjoy in sandwiches or with curries.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 4 medium apples chopped
  2. 1 / 3 cup brown sugar
  3. 1 / 4 cup fresh orange juice
  4. 1 / 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  5. 1 bay leaf
  6. 2 dry red chilli
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1 tbsp oil
  9. 1 tbsp black mustard seeds
  10. 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  11. 1 Cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick pan with oil.
  2. Now add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  3. Then add dry red chilli and bay leaf.
  4. Now add apples, sugar into this.
  5. Add orange juice, water, salt, cinnamon powder.
  6. Bring to boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover with a lid for 40 minutes.
  8. Stirring frequently to prevent chutney from sticking.
  9. Take off the heat and set aside to cool.
  10. Store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
