ABOUT Coconut Burfi RECIPE

Traditional coconut burfi set in the shape of a watermelon.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Dessicated coconut 150 gms
  2. Milkmaid 1 / 2 tin ( 200 gms )
  3. Powdered sugar 2-3tsp
  4. Cardamom powder 2 tsp
  5. Ghee 2 tsp + to grease the tray
  6. Few drops of green and red colour
  7. Few chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Dry roast coconut powder for 2-3min. Do not allow the colour to change
  2. Add milkmaid and incorporate it till the mixture resembles a dough.Add powdered sugar and mix well -
  3. Add ghee and Cardamom powder and mix well.Divide the mixture into 2 parts ( 1 / 3 + 2 / 3 )
  4. Add green colour to the smaller portion and red colour to the larger portion.Set the green portion along the side of mould in a semi circular way
  5. Add the red portion and fill the gap so that it resembles a watermelon slice.
  6. Add chocolate chips randomly to resemble the watermelon seeds. Cut into wedges and serve. -
