I tried this kaju katli for the first time for Diwali as my son loves it. And yes he loved this home made katli too. Do try it!!

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. cashew pieces 1 cup or 100 gms
  2. Milk powder 2 tbsp
  3. For the sugar syrup:
  4. sugar 1/2 cup
  5. water 1/2 cup
  6. Sheets of silver leaf or varak for decoration optional


  1. Put the cashews n an absolutely dry mixer grinder and make a fine powder. Mix in the milk powder to this powdered cashew.
  2. Take a non stick pan, mix the water and sugar and bring to a boil. Keep stirring frequently and mix well till you get a one thread consistency syrup.
  3. Now take your syrup off the flame and add the cashew milk powder to this and keep stirring till the mixture comes together.
  4. Now remove from the pan and let it cool for a few mins. After cooling you will see it becomes like a soft dough.
  5. Now take a sheet of butter paper. Or if you don't have one then grease the back side of a plate with ghee and roll out this dough with a rolling pin to whatever thickness you prefer.
  6. Then cut the sides very neatly to get a square and cut out the diamond like kaju katli shape.
  7. Now let it cool and enjoy your kaju katlis :)
