Everyone loves pizza.. And having pizza without pizza sauce is not possible. Pizza sauce is one of the essential ingredients used in making pizza.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Large tomatoes – 5 Nos
  2. Finely chopped garlic – 1 Tbsp
  3. olive Oil – 2 tbsp
  4. Mixed herbs- 2 Tsp
  5. Oregano – 2 Tsp
  6. Chili flakes – 1 Tsp
  7. Red Chili powder – 1 tsp
  8. White vinegar – 1 Tsp
  9. Powdered sugar – 1 Tsp
  10. salt to taste


  1. Wash and cut tomatoes into two pieces.
  2. Take cut tomatoes in a microwavable safe bowl. Add ½ Tsp of oil and pinch of salt.
  3. Microwave for 6 – 7 mins.
  4. If you don’t have microwave just boil tomatoes in a pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
  5. Let tomatoes cool.
  6. Make coarse puree of tomatoes in a mixer or using hand blender.
  7. Heat oil in a wok (kadai) or a sauce pan. Add finely chopped garlic and cook for about 30 secs.
  8. Add tomatoes and simmer for 5 – 8 mins on a medium low flame, uncovered. Stir occasionally.
  9. Add red chili powder, chili flakes, mixed herbs and oregano. Mix well. Cook for next 2- 3mins.
  10. Add white vinegar, salt and sugar. Mix well. Simmer for 2 – 3mins.
  11. Use it for making pizzas at home.
  12. If you want to store pizza sauce add extra oil and preserve in an air tight jar.
  13. This sauce can be preserved for 15 days in a refrigerator.
