Hyderabadi mutton sutriyan is one such splendid dish served at breakfast on weekends or during dinner on any day. Lip smacking spicy and tangy dish that can be enjoyed on it's own at any given day. Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chapatis either fresh or leftover about 15
  2. Mutton bone-in 1/2 a kg
  3. Yogurt 300gm
  4. Onions large sliced 3
  5. Tomato paste 100gm or chopped large tomatoes 2
  6. Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Ginger Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  9. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  10. Garam masala powder homemade 1 tbsp
  11. Caraway seeds 1 tsp
  12. Cubeb powder 1 tsp
  13. Coriander leaves finely chopped a handful
  14. Oil 4-5 tbsp
  15. Butter 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and marinate the meat with ginger garlic paste at first.
  2. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and saute the onions until translucent.
  3. After about 4 to 5 minutes, add the tomato paste.
  4. Saute it for a while and add the rest of the spices along with the meat.
  5. After about 5 minutes of sauteeing the meat, close the lid.
  6. Pressure cook it for 7 to 8 whistles until done.
  7. After the pressure settles down, add the beaten yogurt.
  8. Tear the chapati into pieces.
  9. Also add the chapati pieces.
  10. Flame should be kept low.
  11. Simmer it for the next 15 minutes.
  12. Garnish with coriander and a generous dollop of butter before serving.
