Hubby bought fresh Quails from market and he asked me to fry it and make thick gravy like curry. All that clicked me was to make something like this and I gave it a go to have it for dinner.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. To Marinate:
  2. Quail- 4 pcs
  3. Kashmiri chilli powder- 2 tsp
  4. turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  5. ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
  6. salt
  7. Other Ingredients:
  8. Oil- 4 tbsp
  9. onion big- 3
  10. Tomato- 1
  11. ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  12. Green chilli- 3 slit into half
  13. Kashmiri red chilli powder- 2 tsp
  14. coriander powder- 1 tsp
  15. turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  16. Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  17. salt
  18. Curry leaves- 1 stem
  19. coriander leaves- to garnish


  1. Marinate the Quails with the given ingredients for about an hour.
  2. In a deep bottomed pan, heat oil and fry the Quails. Keep the lid closed so that it cooks properly.
  3. In a deep bottomed pan, heat oil and fry the Quails. Keep the lid closed so that it cooks properly. Once fried transfer onto a plate.
  4. In the same oil, add sliced onions and fry till brown. Again keep the lid closed while frying so that onions get well mashed up.
  5. Add Ginger garlic paste and saute well. Add tomatoes, curry leaves and spice powders.
  6. Add the fried quails and stir lightly so that pieces do not break.
  7. Keep the lid closed and cook for about 3 minute. Off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with chapati or rotis.
