ABOUT dry veg manchurian RECIPE

Dry manchurian is a tasty indo chinese starter dish of fried veg balls in a spicy sweet and tangy sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup grated cabbag
  2. 1/2 cup grated carrot
  3. 1/4 cup grated capsicum
  4. 1/4 cup grated cauliflower
  5. 1/2 cup chopped onion or spring onion
  6. 1/4 cup grated paneer
  7. 1/4 cup allpurpose flour (maida )
  8. 2 Tablespoon cornflour
  9. 1/2 tea spoon blackpepper powder
  10. 15 garlic cloves finely chopped
  11. 1/2 inch ginger finely chopped
  12. 3 green chillies finely chopped
  13. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  14. 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  15. 1 teaspoon chilli sauce (red)
  16. Salt to taste
  17. 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  18. Oil for frying
  19. 1 tea spoon vinegar
  20. 1 pinch red food colour

Instructions

  1. take a big bowl ,mix cabbage,carrot, cauliflower, capsicum, onion,1/2 chilli ,1/2 garlic, ginger, black pepper,salt,food colour and 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  2. add maida and cornflour, gather the whole mixture and kind of knead so that the veggies leave water and you gate adough like mixture
  3. take a small portion and make balls
  4. heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry golden and crispy
  5. remove them with a slotted spoon and drain as much as oil as possible
  6. heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a nonstick pan
  7. add chopped green chillies and garlic, site for a minute on a low flame
  8. add chopped onion, stir and saute till the onion light golden
  9. dissolve cornflour in 2 tablespoon water
  10. now add the cornflour mixture, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, chilli sauce,vinegar mix very well
  11. then add the fried veg balls , stair so that sauce coats the veg balls evenly
  12. Switch off the flame and give it a final stir.
  13. dry veg manchurian is ready
  14. serve hot as a starter with some garnished sprig onion ,grated cabbage and grated paneer
