ABOUT Chicken Tawa Masala RECIPE

This is very delicious tawa chicken recipe from Punjab. Try it and You will love it for sure.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 kilograms Chicken.
  2. 4 onions chopped
  3. 4 tomatoes chopped (pureed)
  4. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon kasuri methi powder
  7. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  8. 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste
  9. 2 tablespoon Ghee (clarified butter)
  10. 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  11. 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  12. 4 green chillies
  13. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  14. handful coriander
  15. 1 cheese cube

Instructions

  1. First wash chicken thoroughly. And keep aside.
  2. Chop tomatoes and make a puree in a mixer.
  3. Then cook this puree in a vessel for 5 minutes.
  4. Now dry roast kasuri methi and crush it with your hands, keep aside.
  5. Heat a kadhai add in Ghee.
  6. Add in asafoetida, jeera, green chillies and turmeric powder and saute it.
  7. Add in chopped onion and saute it, fry it until little brownish. Add salt.
  8. Add in ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, garam masala powder.
  9. Add in chicken, saute for 4 to 5 minutes on a medium flame. Turn the flame to completely low and cooked covered for 5 minutes. Chicken gets cooked in its own moisture, so don't need to add water.
  10. Flip the chicken pieces and mix everything well.
  11. Now add in cooked tomato puree, mix well.
  12. Now add chopped coriander and kasuri methi powder, give a stir.
  13. Cover the pan again and continue to cook on low heat until chicken is completely cooked to soft and tender.
  14. Yummy Tawa Chicken Masala is ready.
  15. Garnish with fresh coriander and grated cheese.
  16. Serve hot with Roti, Naan or Chapatis.
