ABOUT Shahi onion curry RECIPE

Small sized onion, stuffed and cooked In a rich gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4 Small size onions.
  2. For stuffing:
  3. Turmeric powder 1/4 tablespoons
  4. Red chilli powder 1/2 tablespoon or more if you like spicy
  5. Dhaniya powder 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Jeera powder 1/2 tablespoon
  7. Dry mango powder 1/4 tablespoon
  8. Garam masala powder 1/4 tablespoon
  9. salt as per taste
  10. Kasuri methi 1/4 tablespoon
  11. heeng a pinch
  12. Fresh cream 2tablespoon
  13. Besan 1.5 tablespoon
  14. FOR GRAVY:
  15. Bay leaf
  16. Cumin,
  17. A pinch of heeng
  18. 1 Onion paste
  19. 1 tablespoon zinger garlic paste
  20. 1 tomato puree
  21. 1 tablespoon Cream
  22. Oil 2 tablespoon
  23. Chopped coriander for garnishing
  24. water 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Peel and wash onions. Then either scoop out center or make 2 slits without separating parts
  2. Roast besan for a while.
  3. Mix turmeric all dry ingredients (powders) along with besan.
  4. Now add 2 tablespoon cream in spice mix.
  5. Fill onions with besan and cream filling.
  6. Now in a pressure cooker add 2 tablespoon oil
  7. Add heeng, zeera, bay leaf,
  8. Add onion paste, saute for a while and add zinger-garlic paste, saute again until smell of garlic stops.
  9. Now add tomato puree and saute till it started leaving oil from sides
  10. Add salt, chili powder, turmeric powder. Garam masala powder
  11. Add remaining cream and 1/4 cup water
  12. Now add stuffed onion. And remaining stuffing masala.
  13. cover with lid.
  14. Take a single whisl and remove from heat. Let it cool now.
  15. keep onions in a plate with gravy and garnish with coriander and cream.
  16. Let's eat now yeeeeh
