Ingredients Serving: 0

  1. 4 Medium Onions, peeled and cut into cubes(Try to separate,each petal of each cube)
  2. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  3. salt as per taste
  4. 1 & 1/2 Tablespoon Chili garlic Sauce
  5. 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  6. 1 Medium Tomato,chopped finely
  7. 3/4th Teaspoon sugar
  8. a Fistful Grated coconut
  9. 2 small Green Chilies ,chopped finely
  10. 4 Sprigs Cilantro,chopped


  1. First peel the onions and cut them in cubes.
  2. Marinate the onions with salt,black pepper powder,chili garlic sauce and soy sauce.
  3. Keep it aside for 1 hour.
  4. Now, on a tava / griddle, spread little oil and place all the marinated onion pieces and on medium heat fry it.
  5. Alternatively,put all onion pieces on skewers and keep them on direct flame.
  6. Cook the onions till all the onion petals loosen and they are cooked well.
  7. Mostly keep the onions stirred on the tava till the outer skin is charred or slightly burnt.
  8. Now let it cool.
  9. In a bowl,mix the cooked onion,tomato,salt,sugar,cilantro,grated coconut,green chilies.
  10. Mash well with your hands,so that the charred flavor of onions gets mixed well with all other ingredients.
  11. Serve with hot phulkas or roti.
