Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken 250gm
  2. Ghee or oil 2 tsp
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1-1 tsp
  4. 1 cup basmati soaked rice
  5. Dhaniya seed 2tsp
  6. Fennel seed 2tsp
  7. 1 Stick Cinnamon
  8. 2-3 green cardamom
  9. 1 black cardamom
  10. 4_5 black peppercorn
  11. 3_4 cloves
  12. 4_5 garlic cloves
  13. 1/2 inch ginger pieces
  14. One diced onion
  15. One cup fried onion golden brown for garnish
  16. Mint leaves
  17. Coriander leaves
  18. Orange colour
  19. Kewra water


  1. Clean and wash chicken. Soaked basmati rice for 15 mins. Boil chicken by adding all whole spices including ginger garlic crushed them properly. Add salt.
  2. Boil chicken in a pressure cooker by 1-2 whistles. Take out chicken from stock and drain stock. This way, all whole spices flavors get amalgamated into the stock.
  3. Now add ghee or oil in a deep vessel add fresh whole spices in it, fry it slightly. Then add ginger garlic paste. Then add soaked rice fry it add stock and when water reduced add chicken pieces. Add salt only according to rice measurement because we already added salt in stock.
  4. Seal the vessel properly so that steam won't came out after ten mins open it add golden brown fried onions, mint leaves, coriander leaves orange color, kewra water for nice aroma.
