ABOUT Onion Cheese Potli Samosa RECIPE

Samosa is a famous Indian snack. It looks triangular in shape. You can also modify the shape and give the shape of 'potli' or packet. I chose to stuff with a filling of onion and cheese. Onion cheese potli samosa is a great snack for kid's party. Kids love cheese and along with onion it makes a delicious combination.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. All purpose flour - 1 cup
  2. Refined oil - 3 tablespoon + 3 cups for deep frying
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Onion - 1 Medium, finely chopped
  5. Cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
  6. Chaat masala - 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Black salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take all purpose flour, salt and 3 tablespoon oil in a bowl and knead a smooth dough.
  2. Allow to rest the dough for 10 minutes.
  3. Take grated cheese and chopped onion in a bowl. Mix well.
  4. Add chaat masala into the mixture and once again mix well. Now the stuffing is ready.
  5. Divide the dough into six equal size balls.
  6. Divide the onion-cheese stuffing into six equal portions.
  7. Roll out each ball just like poori and place one portion of stuffing on the middle of the rolled out dough.
  8. Now hold it in hand and start making pleats of the edges and gather them together at the center.
  9. Do the similar procedure for the remaining balls and prepare the ' potli'.
  10. Next heat oil in a wok and fry the potli samosas until all the sides turn out golden in colour.
  11. After frying take them out in a tissue paper to soak the excess oil and sprinkle black salt on top and serve hot with sauce.
