This baked delicacy melts as soon as you put it into your mouth. The crunchiness of the outer layer is added flavour. Plus it looks so beautiful.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. onion - 3
  2. potato - 2 (medium sized)
  3. Cheese - 1 cup (Mozzarella)
  4. All spice - 1 tsp
  5. garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Crushed pepper - 1tsp
  7. salt - as per taste
  8. butter - 1tbsp + 1 tbsp
  9. egg - 1
  10. Bread crumbs - 1/2cup
  11. maida - 2tbsp
  12. Bread slice - 6
  13. chilli flakes - 1tsp
  14. Oregano - 1/2tsp


  1. Peel off the outer layer of the onions and dissect all the layers. Give the layers appropriate shape of rose petals, separately.
  2. Boil the potatoes and smash them.
  3. One by one add all the ingredients and mix well.
  4. Add cheese to this mixture in the end.
  5. Take one muffin tray, spread butter on the inside of each muffin void.
  6. Cut the bread slices in accordance to the muffin void and give it a rounded shape.
  7. Put the slices at the base of the muffin voids. Put the smashed potato mixture on top of it and settle it down. Keep it aside.
  8. Take the Maida and add salt, oregano and pepper. Dust this over the onion petals.
  9. Take the egg, and beat it thoroughly. Dip the onion petals into the egg and keep it aside. Dust the bread crumbs over the petals.
  10. Now, one by one decorate the onion petals into the muffin void over the mashed potatoes, like a rose.
  11. Brush the melted butter over the petals.
  12. Bake the onion petals for 20 mins at 230 degrees.
