ABOUT Baklava RECIPE

The famous Arabic sweet “Baklava” is the phyllo dough filled with nuts and soaked in sugar syrup. This can be made in many shapes, squares, diamond, fingers and small rectangles. I made mine in small rectangles and they really tasted awesome.

  3. ĵ cup Pistachios
  4. ĵ cup Sugar
  5. ½ tsp Cinnamon powder
  6. ½ cup Melted butter
  7. For the syrup:
  8. 1 cup Sugar
  9. 1 tsp rose water
  10. 1 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Defrost the phyllo dough. Now cut out a medium sized square out of the dough. Also coarsely grind the walnuts.

  3. Now put the walnut mixture on the sheet of the lengthy side in a thick line leaving 1 inch of the sheet edge.
  4. Next roll the sheet into a log shape. Cut carefully with a knife into small square or rectangles. Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius for 20 minutes.

  7. Pour this syrup over the baked baklavas. It will take almost 2 to 3 hours for the baklavas to fully absorb the syrup.
  8. After they have full absorbed the syrup, you can serve them to enjoy.
