ABOUT Yummy Creamy Kheer RECIPE

A semolina based milk dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina 1/2 cup
  2. Milk 2 cups
  3. Almonds 8-10
  4. Sugar 1 1/2 cup
  5. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Nutmeg 1 pinch
  7. Water if required
  8. Salt 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak almonds in warm water prior to preparation.
  2. Roast semolina( sooji rawa) till a nice aroma starts coming and keep aside.
  3. Pour milk in a thick bottomed vessel preferably full fat milk and bring it to boil.
  4. As the milk comes to boil add sugar and stir well.
  5. Let the sugar get dissolved.
  6. Meanwhile peel the soaked almonds and grind to a smooth paste.
  7. Add this almond paste to the milk and keep stirring.
  8. Add lightly roasted semolina slowly to the milk on low flame and keep stirring.
  9. Check the consistency, if it is too thick add hot water, stir well and bring it to boil.
  10. Now switch off the stove and add cardamom powder, grated nutmeg and salt.
  11. Yummy creamy kheer is ready to be served.
