Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 litre milk for chenna
  2. 1 litre milk( for getting thick consistency)
  3. 1 teaspoon green cardamom powder
  4. 200 grams sugar
  5. 8-10 cashews for garnishing
  6. 10-12 saffron strings

Instructions

  1. Take a deep pan. Boil one litre milk till it reduces to half. Add half teaspoon cardamom powder. Meanwhile take a deep pan boil 1 litre milk and add lemon juice stir well till it curdles like chenna, squeeze out excess water.
  2. Add this chenna in thickened milk and mix well. Stir continuously for five minutes, add sugar ,1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and 4-5 saffron strings.
  3. Stir the mixture continuously till it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. Keep the pan on medium flame while stirring .
  4. Add some cashews, saffron on the mould or tray. Pour this mixture and let it cool.
  5. Cut the kalakand into pieces or just transfer it into a plate and serve.
