ABOUT Suji Doodhi Halwa RECIPE

A soft and delicious halwa prepared with milk and semolina.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup suji (semolina)
  2. 3/4 cup pure ghee
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1 and 1/2 cup water ( boiled)
  5. 1 and 1/2 cup milk
  6. dry fruits finely chopped ( of your choice )
  7. 2 cardamom


  1. In a wide pan take ghee.
  2. Add cardamom by slitting them open.
  3. Now add suji (semolina ) and cook on low flame till you smell the suji roasting in ghee.
  4. When you see that the suji has changed it colour slightly add hot water into it.
  5. Cover the pan for at least 2 minutes.
  6. Open the pan and stir it continuously and add the milk while stirring it.
  7. When their is little liquid left in the pan add sugar.
  8. Cover the pan for 2 minutes.
  9. Now stir continuously till the sugar is fully dissolved and the suji leaves the sides of the pan.
  10. Add dry fruits of your choice.
