ABOUT Kesariya Meva Milk RECIPE

Kesariya Meva milk is my great grandmother's treasured heirloom recipe. It is a delicious and healthy preparation and very effective remedy for cold ,cough and body ache during the winter season. Turmeric (Haldi) has natural antibiotic properties and milk is a rich source of calcium. The combination of these two natural ingredients along with the goodness of dry fruits in this milk based power packed drink can keep diseases and infections at bay.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1 1/2 glass milk
  2. 2 teaspoons of finely chopped dry nuts like almonds, small pistachio, cashew, raisins, dry dates, chironji/chiroli
  3. 1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder
  4. 1 pinch saffron strands
  5. 2 pinch green cardamom powder
  6. 1 teaspoon sugar or according to taste
  7. For the Garnish:
  8. 1 teaspoon of chopped almonds, pistachios
  9. 1 pinch saffron strands
  10. 1 pinch cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Put milk in a deep pan and bring to a boil.
  2. Simmer over low heat, stirring a few times till it thickens (about 1/3 should be evaporated, at least).
  3. Add turmeric powder, sugar, saffron, and cardamom powder.
  4. Stir till the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Add chopped dry nuts and simmer for about 5 minutes .
  6. Pour into a glass and serve hot or warm garnished with saffron, cardamom powder, almonds and pistachios.
