ABOUT Orange Coconut Peda RECIPE

Peda are usually made using khoya or mawa but here we have used fresh cream.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 1 cup Dessicated coconut
  2. 3/4 cup Milk
  3. 1/2 cup Fresh cream (alternatively use khoya or mawa)
  4. 1 cup less 2 tablespoon sugar
  5. Pinch cardamom powder
  6. 4 to 5 drops Orange emulsion
  7. 1 tablespoon Orange crush for decorations

Instructions

  1. In a pan without turning the flame add dessicated coconut, milk, fresh cream and mix well.
  2. Switch on flame on low to medium and cook for 4 to 5 minutes till milk and cream dries up. Stir continuously to avoid burning or sticking.
  3. Once the mixture thickens add sugar and mix well.
  4. Stirring constantly cook for 4 to 5 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Once the mixture is cooked it will thicken up and leave the sides of the pan turning in to a ball.
  6. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes and then switch off the flame.
  7. Add cardamom powder and orange emulsion and mix well.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and allow it to cool down, put it in a refrigerator for 1 hour.
  9. Make small balls giving shape of pedas and put it in plate.
  10. Decorate with orange crush.
