Ingredients to make Veg Braids

  • For dough:
  • 1 cup maida/ all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon oil to make it soft
  • salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoon ajwain seeds
  • For filling:
  • 2 potatoes diced
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 cup green peas
  • spices: 1 teaspoon each red chilli powder, turmeric powder and amchoor powder.
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon oil

How to make Veg Braids

  1. Firstly prepare the filling.
  2. Take 2 teaspoon oil in a pan.
  3. Add all the vegetables with salt and spices.
  4. Cook on low flame.
  5. When vegetables are done, close the flame, allow it to cool.
  6. Knead the maida with little salt, oil, ajwain seeds to a soft dough.
  7. Now take a ball from the dough.
  8. Roll into a chapati.
  9. Fill the filling in the middle.
  10. Now cut strips on both the sides of the chapati.
  11. Now criss cross them and close them.
  12. Place them on oven tray.
  13. Preheat oven at 120 degrees centigrade for 10 minutes.
  14. Place the oven tray and bake for 40 minutes till golden brown.
  15. Cut and serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
