ABOUT Chicken - e- Khaas RECIPE

Delicious chicken made in sesame and coconut gravy with a creamy taste of cashew nuts.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. mustard oil 5 tbsp
  2. chicken 700 gm
  3. For Marination
  4. Red chill powder 1/2 tbsp
  5. turmeric 1/2 tbsp
  6. salt 1tbsp
  7. 2 medium size tomatoes
  8. garlic and ginger paste 2 tbsp
  9. mint leaves 1/2 bowl
  10. Garam masala 2 tbsp
  11. lemon juice 1tbsp
  12. Green chilly paste 1/2 tbsp
  13. onion paste of 2.
  14. For gravy
  15. Tejpatta 2
  16. cinnamon Stick 1
  17. Leong 4
  18. Black cardamom 4
  19. javitri 1/2 small tbsp
  20. Star flower 4
  21. Red dry chilly 2
  22. Seasame seed 2 tbsp
  23. Fresh grated coconut 5 tbsp
  24. 2 medium size onion
  25. Soaked kaju [cashew nuts] 12 pieces
  26. coriander leaves
  27. khuskhus 1/2 tbsp


  1. For marination :
  2. Mix chicken with yogurt. And other ingredients properly and leaves it for 5 hrs or overnight in the fridge.
  3. Heat pressure cooker. And add mustard oil.
  4. Take out the marinated chicken and let it come down to the room temperature
  5. Heat some ghee/oil in the pressure cooker pan. Add the bay leaf [tejpatta], cinnamon and cloves in the pressure cooker.
  6. Add chopped onion and fry it till it not become Brown.
  7. Heat a pan add sesame seed. Grated coconut. And roast them.
  8. In the same pan roast the javitri. Khuskhus, black cardamom,star anise flower and red chilly.
  9. After roasting them blend it in a powder. Keep aside.
  10. In the cooker add marinated chikan and fry it properly about 5 minutes Or till the chicken leaves water.
  11. Meanwhile make a paste of kaju.
  12. Add the kaju paste and masala powder in the cooker and mix it properly , to the chicken.
  13. Add warm water to the chicken ,around 1 glass of water would be enough.
  14. Cover the cooker and let the chicken, cook till 1 whistle.
  15. Lower the flame for 2 minute.
  16. Switch off the gas
  17. Garnish the recipe with green coriander now it ready to serve with chapati and rice
