Bengali Rupchad Fish Curry

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. onion chopped 1
  2. chillies 2
  3. turmeric 1/2 tsp
  4. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Onion seeds 1/2 tsp
  6. coarinder leaves
  7. Oil 5-6 tbsp
  8. Roasted jeera powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Fish fillets - 300 gms

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a frying pan, add the fish fillets. Sprinkle some turmeric powder and salt. Turn and saute on both sides, add more oil if required. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, add onion seeds and green chillies, add chopped onions and then saute till little brown in colour,
  3. Add salt (Keep in mind that you have added some salt while frying the fish), turmeric powder, Kashmir red chilli powder and shallow fry the masala for 2-3 minutes. Add a little warm water, depending the amount of gravy you want.
  4. Add the fried fishes, let it boil for 3-4 minutes and add the roasted jeera powder and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
