ABOUT Sava ka kheer RECIPE

Sava is a very small variety of rice, also used in fasts!! So this is a yummy kheer made with this rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sava ka chawal 1/2 cup
  2. Sugar as per taste
  3. Dry fruits (coconut, raisins, badam) finely chopped, 3/4 cup
  4. Milk 4cups.
  5. Green cardamom powder 1/2 tsp


  1. Wash the Sava ka chawal in a bowl and roast it in a pan in desi ghee.
  2. In a deep vessel put milk and 1/2 cup water and allow it to boil.
  3. Once the milk is boiled, add the roasted rice and sugar to it.
  4. Keep stirring constantly.
  5. The milk will become thick slowly and the rice will b cooked.
  6. Add all the dry fruits and mix well
  7. Keep cooking untill the kheer becomes thick and the rice is completely cooked.
  8. Finally add the cordamom​ powder and mix well.
  9. Your kheer is ready. You can serve it hot or after cooling in d fridge.
