ABOUT Mango rabdi filled Modak RECIPE

The speciality of this steamed Mango rabdi filled modak is that it is a contrasting combination of outer rice coat and inner sweet mango rabdi which readily melts to excite your taste buds.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For covering...
  2. 1/2 cup rice flaur
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1 tbsp ghee
  5. 2 pinch salt
  6. For Filling
  7. 1/4 cup mango pulp
  8. 1/4 cup cottage cheese (crushedpaneer)
  9. 1/4 cup crushed khoya
  10. 1 tbsp sugar
  11. 1 tbsp dry fruits chopped
  12. 2 pinch cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Put paneer in a pan and saute for two minutes on low flame.
  2. Add khoya in the paneer and saute for two more minutes.
  3. When it becomes golden add mango pulp and sugar and saute for two more minutes.
  4. Saute till the water evaporates.
  5. Switch off the gas,add the dry fruits and elaichi and chill in the fridge for half an hour.
  6. For covering:
  7. Boil 1/2 cup water in a pan and add 1 tsp ghee and salt in it.
  8. When the water starts boiling add rice flour and mix.
  9. Stir continuously for two-four minutes and lift it off from the gas.
  10. Take out filling from the fridge and make small balls.
  11. Grease your palm with ghee , take 1 spoon rice flour and give it the shape of a small roti.
  12. Put the filling inside and close it in the shape of a modak.
  13. If you have a mould you can also use that but their size will be small.
  14. Steam them for fifteen to twenty minutes.
  15. Take them out after steaming, chill the modaks and offer it to ganpati.
