Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana or chikpeas - 1cup
  2. Oil - 3tablespoon
  3. Cumin seeds - 1tablespoon
  4. curry leaves
  5. Whole garam masala - 1bay leaf, 7-8 pepper corns, cloves 2
  6. Onion - 1chopped
  7. Tomatoes -2
  8. Ginger garlic paste - 1tablespoon
  9. Green chilli - 1
  10. Salt - as per taste
  11. Turmeric powder - 1/2tablespoon
  12. Red chilli powder - 2tablespoon
  13. Garam masala powder - 1/2tablespoon
  14. Amchur powder - 3/4tablespoon
  15. Corrainder cumin powder - 2tablespoon
  16. Cilantro - For ganishing
  17. Onion rings - For garnishing
  18. Water - as required

Instructions

  1. Soak chickpeas or chana for 7-8 hours or over night.
  2. Take cooker add 3tablespoon oil to it once it get hots add cumin seeds after the cumins seeds crackle add the whole garam masla to it & curry leaves &saute it for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Then add chopped onion to it once the onion gets translucent add ginger garlic paste to it & green chiilies & saute it for 2-3minutes.
  4. Grind the tomatoes & put the mixture to onion mix it well.
  5. Add salt & all the masalas to it mix it well & cook it for good 7-8 minutes or untill the oil gets separated from the masala.
  6. Then add the chickpeas or chana to it mix it well & let it cook for 5 minutes.
  7. then add water to it once the chana starts boiling put the cooker lid & cook it untill the chana is done.
  8. Then remove the chana from cooker in to pot if you want little thick gravy put little water to it.
  9. Take some chana from it & grind it put the mixture to the cook chole so in this way you can get a thick consistency & simmer it on low flame for 5minutes.
  10. Lastly put some cilantro & garnish it with some onion rings.
