Lilva Kachori is very famous in gujarat specially in winter season. The fresh Tuvar dana has its own taste which gives a boost in kachori. The crunchy outer layer and tasty inner stuff gives an awesome combination.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 Cup Fresh Tuvar Dana
  2. 1 cup maida
  3. 2 tsp Rawa
  4. salt as per taste
  5. 2 tsp oil (To make dough )
  6. 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh coriander
  7. 3 Green Chilies Chopped
  8. 1 tsp ginger Chilli Paste
  9. 1/2 cup Grated Fresh coconut
  10. 2 tsp lemon Juice (More or Less according to taste)
  11. 3 tsp Caster sugar (More or less according to taste)
  12. oil to fry
  13. 2 tsp oil (To make stuffing )


  1. Take maida, rava, salt, oil in a bowl and mix well. Add a little quantity and knead stiff dough. Grease hands with oil and again knead for a minute. Allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Wash and pet dry tuvar dana. Grind in a mixer to a coarse paste. Don't add any water while grinding.
  3. In a non stick pan take 2 tsp oil and roast this coarse tuvar dana. It will take around 4-5 minutes. Make sure tuvar dana should not be burnt or change the color. It will be done in 2-3 minutes.
  4. Now add Coriander, coconut, green chilli, salt, ginger chilli paste, lemon juice, sugar. Mix well.Take a small portion of dough, roll like a small puri, fill this stuffing and fry on slow to medium flame.
  5. I served it with green coriander chutney. One can also serve with sauce or a hot cup of tea and coffee.
