Dum aloo

Ingredients to make Dum aloo

  • Baby potatoes- 1kg
  • onions-2
  • tomatoes-4
  • Garam masala powder
  • Salt, chilli powder-as per our taste
  • ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Cumin and coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • yogurt- half cup

How to make Dum aloo

  1. Boil baby potatoes with a spoon of salt and cook for 1 whistle
  2. In a non stick pan, add oil and spices, onions and tomatoes and cook for 10 min and transfer into a blender
  3. Add yogurt and blend into a thick paste
  4. Now peel the baby potatoes and shallow fry in oil in a non stick pan.
  5. Now add the blended paste and add little water to make the sauce silky.
  6. Cook for 10 min till the gravy thickens and then transfer it into a serving bowl.

My Tip:

In case we are in a hurry to cook, we can make a mix of yogurt, salt, chilli powder, cumin, coriander powder and add it to roasted baby potatoes
