ABOUT wheat kara kuzhipaniyaram RECIPE

This is a yummy south indian breakfast recipie. Its a healthy version too. It's best had with coconut chutney or kara chutney

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. rava/ sooji 1/2 cup
  3. thick yogurt 1/2 cup
  4. onion 1 big
  5. mustard 1 tsp
  6. jeera 1 tsp
  7. baking soda 1/2 tsp (or) eno fruit salt 1 tsp
  8. ginger 1/2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  9. oil 1 tbsp
  10. salt 1/2 tsp
  11. water as needed
  12. few curry leaves
  13. green chillies 2 (chopped finely )

Instructions

  1. Add flour, rava, curd and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add enough water to form a thick batter and keep aside.
  3. Now for tempering heat oil in a pan.
  4. Once the oil is heated, add mustard and jeera.
  5. After they splutter, add onions, curry leaves, green chilles and ginger and saute.
  6. Saute for 2 minutes and add to the batter.
  7. Now add the baking soda or eno fruit salt and mix well.
  8. Heat the kuzhipaniyara pan and add a spoon of the batter.
  9. Wait for one side to brown and then flip it to cook the other side.
  10. Once both sides are well cooked remove and serve with any chutney.
