Rajma beans are good for health and perfect as a side dish for chapathis of pilaf rice varieties

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Onions-3
  2. Tomatoes-5
  3. rajma beans-1 cup
  4. salt - as per our taste
  5. chilli powder-2 spoons
  6. Channa madala-1 spoon
  7. Garam masala- 1/2 spoon
  8. Cloves-3
  9. cinnamon stick - small piece
  10. Elachi- 2
  11. ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp


  1. Soak rajma in water overnight
  2. When ready to cook, in a pressure cooker, add little oil and ghee.
  3. Now add elachi, cloves, cinnamon and add onions and fry for 5 min.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste and fry for 5 min.
  5. Now add finely chopped tomatoes or tomato juice( blend in mixie jar) and add channa masala, coriander powder, garam masala , salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and cook till gravy is thick.
  6. Now add rajma beans along with little water and close pressure cooker lid and cook for 10 whistles.
  7. After 10 min, open the pressure cooker and transfer the rajma masala into serving dish.
  8. Serve hot with chapathi or pulav.
