Arhar/Toor dal is rich in proteins and this is the sindhi style of dal recipe which is simple and absolutely delicious, this can be just served with some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Arhar/Toor - 1/2 cup
  2. Tomatoes [2] - chopped
  3. Salt
  4. Turmeric powder - 1/4 th tsp
  5. Green chillies [chopped ] 2
  6. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  8. Ghee
  9. Coriander leaves [chopped]
  10. Red chilly powder -1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal for few hours.
  2. Boil the dal with required amount of water, in a pressure cooker along with some turmeric powder and salt.
  3. Chop the tomatoes, green chillies and coriander leaves, like this
  4. Now heat a wok with some ghee, add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  5. Then add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, red chilly powder and mix.
  6. Cook well until the masala is dine and then add the boiled dal.
  7. Garnish with some coriander leaves and this is ready to be served.
