ABOUT Tiramisu RECIPE

This is a famous Italian dessert..I have seen many versions of this and many easy methods also..but I thought I will make it the correct way.Here we don't get mascarpone cheese every where.So i made it at home.The dessert really came out so delish.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For biscuit layer:
  2. 1 Big packet lady's finger biscuit
  3. 2cups Dark coffee
  4. 1/4 c Sugar
  5. For Mascarpone cheese:
  6. 500 ml Whipping cream
  7. 1tbsp Lime juice
  8. For Zabaglione:
  9. 3 Large egg yolks
  10. 1/4 c Sugar
  11. 1tsp Vanilla Essence
  12. Other Ingredients:
  13. 1c Fresh cream
  14. 3 Egg whites beaten
  15. 1/2c Sugar

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a sauce pan, keep a bowl of whipping cream on top of the water. While small bubbles on surface of the cream add the lime juice.
  2. Stir and remove it from heat.Now keep a muslin cloth on a strainer kept over a bowl and pour this cheese to the cloth. After 30 mins cover it with a cling film and refrigerate it to 12 hrs or overnight.
  3. In a sauce pan boil water and over the boiling water keep a bowl with egg yolks and sugar, whisk to get a thick creamy mixture.
  4. Add the Vanilla essence and mix.Keep aside for cooling.
  5. Add 1 to 2 tsp of coffee powder in 2 c warm water.Add sugar to this and mix well.
  6. In a bowl mix the mascarpone cheese,zabaglione and mix together. Mix the fresh cream to this.
  7. In another bowl beat the egg white with sugar till peaks appear. Now fold the egg whites to the cheese mixture and mix well slowly.
  8. In a pudding dish layer the biscuits dipped in coffee syrup.Just dip and take it out other wise it will be so soggy.
  9. Pour a layer of cheese mixture on top of the biscuits, again layer biscuits over the cream.Pour the rest cheese mixture over the biscuits. Let this set for 5-6 hrs or overnight.
  10. While serving seive some cocoa powder or make chocolate swirls. Enjoy the tiramisu!!!!!!!!!

Superb! A must try.....any substitute for lady finger biscuits?
