ABOUT Dum chhole RECIPE

Dum chhole is a easy and evergreen receipe. You can make this on birthday parties, dinner party, lunch n specially for your vegetarian guests. You can serve dum chhole with fried rice, bhature, puri and paratha as well.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chickpeas( kabuli chhole) 250 gms
  2. Onion big size 3-4
  3. Black Cardamom 1
  4. Green cardamom 2
  5. Cloves 3-4
  6. Cinnamon 1 inch
  7. Javitri
  8. Dry red chillies 6-7
  9. Bay Leaves 1
  10. Pinch of hing
  11. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  12. methi seeds 1/2 tsp
  13. Mustard oil 2-3 tbsp
  14. Refined oil 1 tbsp
  15. Ghee 1 tsp
  16. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  17. Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
  18. red chilli powder acc to taste
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  21. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  22. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  23. black pepper powder 1 tsp
  24. Kashmiri mirch powder 1 tsp
  25. Grated ginger 1 tsp
  26. Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  27. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Firstly soak the chickpeas in water for overnight. Take a pressure cooker put raw mustard oil without heat and all the ingredients except Garam masala and mix them well like this.
  2. Put 4 cups of water and now close the lid.
  3. Now switch on the gas and wait for total 5-6 whistles. When first whistle comes then turn the gas on low flame and wait for another whistles.
  4. After that switch off the flame and open the lid when the pressure is released.
  5. Now switch on the gas and mix well. If you need more gravy then add some water & take this to simmer in low flame.
  6. In last add Garam masala powder and Kashmiri mirch if you need more.
  7. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve hot with fried rice in lunch or dinner.
