Paneer bhurji rolled in home made , whole wheat bread.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Bhurji stuffing- Paneer, 100 grams
  2. Onion, 1
  3. Tomato, 1
  4. Garam masala powder, 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon
  6. haldi powder,1/4 teaspoon
  7. salt to taste
  8. Green chilli, 1
  9. Green coriander leaves, 1 tablespoon
  10. For the bread roll- whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 cups
  11. water or milk, 3/4 cup
  12. Sugar, 1 teaspoon
  13. garlic butter,2 tablespoon
  14. Milk powder, 1 tablespoon
  15. Instant yeast, 3/4 teaspoon


  1. To make the outer roll- Mix all the ingredients for the bread.
  2. Knead for 10 minutes.
  3. Gather as a ball.
  4. Oil a bowl, lightly
  5. Place the dough,seam side down in the bowl.
  6. Cover and keep in a warm place to rise.
  7. It will double up in a couple of hours.
  8. To Prepare the bhurji-
  9. Grate the paneer
  10. Chop the onion.
  11. Chop the tomato.
  12. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  13. Saute the onion till soft.
  14. Add in the tomato
  15. Cook till soft.
  16. Add in the seasonings
  17. Add the green chilli.
  18. Add the grated paneer.
  19. Bring it all together and shut off the flame.
  20. To make the rolls, check the bread dough.
  21. If it is done,Punch to remove air.
  22. Roll out a ball like a roti.
  23. With a knife, divide the roti into 8 pieces, first cutting in half, then quarters etc.
  24. Place a teaspoon of bhurji on one end, like in the pic.
  25. Gather the end and roll towards the centre.
  26. Roll a bit tight.
  27. Pinch the corners.
  28. Ready all rolls similarly.
  29. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  30. Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  31. Place the rolls on a lined baking tray.
  32. Brush again with Garlic butter.
  33. Pop in the oven to bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  34. Remove when they turn golden brown.
  35. Serve piping hot.
