Dum biryani

Ingredients to make Dum biryani

  • Basmati rice - 2 cups
  • salt
  • Kewda water - 1 tsp
  • curd - 1/2 cup
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 2
  • Split green chillies - 4
  • carrots - 1/4 th cup [chopped]
  • capsicum - 1/4 th cup
  • peas - 1/4 th cup
  • Biryani masala - 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Whole garam masala [cinnamon, cloves, cardamom]
  • Tejpatta - 1
  • cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • ghee - 3 tbsp

How to make Dum biryani

  1. Chop all the vegetables in this manner.
  2. These are rest of the ingredients : Kasuri methi, garam masala ,split chilli ,whole garam masala, curd and spices
  3. Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes.
  4. Boil rice with garam masala and tejpatta
  5. Add ghee in kadai
  6. Now add tejpatta and whole garam masalas.
  7. Add onion and ginger garlic paste.
  8. Add kasuri methi
  9. Now add curd
  10. Fry it like this
  11. Add red chilli salt and garam masala
  12. Color half a bowl of the rice with artificial food color and keep aside.
  13. The boiled rice looks like this.
  14. Now add rice to the vegetables.
  15. Now add split green chilli and colored rice
  16. And cover it
  17. Now mix it well
  18. Veg dum biryani is ready
