ABOUT Soya Chunks Manchurian RECIPE

This Manchurian is a must make snack/starter for your parties. It can be healthier if instead of frying the chunks, we bake them.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Soya chunks 1 cup
  2. Garlic 3-4 cloves grated
  3. Ginger 1/2 inch grated
  4. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Corn flour 2 tbsp
  6. Oil for frying
  7. salt as per taste
  8. FOR THE SAUCE
  9. Oil 1 tbsp
  10. Ginger 1/2 inch piece grated
  11. garlic 6-7 cloves grated
  12. Onion 2 medium finely chopped
  13. Capsicum 1 finely chopped
  14. Tomato ketchup 1/2 tbsp
  15. Soya sauce 1 tsp
  16. Red chilli sauce 1 tbsp
  17. Vinegar 1 tsp
  18. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  19. Corn flour 3/4 tsp
  20. Water 1/2 cup
  21. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix together water and corn flour and keep aside.
  2. Boil the soya chunks in enough water. Keep aside for at least half an hour.
  3. Then wash the soya chunks and remove all the excess water by pressing the chunks between your palms.
  4. Add corn flour, red chilli powder, ginger, garlic, salt to the soya chunks. Add a tsp of water if required to bind the chunks with corn flour.
  5. Keep aside for half an hour.
  6. Afterwards deep fry the chunks until crispy.
  7. In a pan heat oil. Add ginger and garlic and fry until the raw smell has gone. Add onions and fry until translucent. Add capsicum and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, soya sauce, vinegar. mix well.
  9. Add the prepared corn flour water and mix well.
  10. Add red chilli powder and salt. mix well.
  11. Cook until the sauce thickens up a bit.
  12. Switch off the flame and cool the sauce a bit. then add the fried soya chunks and mix well.
  13. Serve hot.
  14. Delicious soya chunks manchurian is ready!
