ABOUT Chicken Chukka RECIPE

This is a dry chicken dish which is very tasty with chappatis...this takes a little time to get prepared but is really very tasty...this can be a starter or a main dish with chappati or kubus.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1kg Chicken
  2. 3 big Onions
  3. 1 big Tomato
  4. 3 Green chillies
  5. 3 Cloves Garlic
  6. 1/2 tsp Red Chilly powder
  7. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. 1/2 tsp Fennel seed powder
  9. 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
  10. Salt
  11. Curry Leaves- handful
  12. Coriander Leaves- handful
  13. Oil for frying
  14. For Marination:
  15. 1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
  16. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  17. 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  18. Salt

Instructions

  1. Clean the chicken and drain off excess water.In a bowl put chicken and ingredients for marination and marinate the chicken and keep aside for 1 hr.Now in a frying pan pour oil.
  2. When the oil is hot put the chicken in it and fry till slight dark brown. Now in another pan pour 2 tbsp of chicken fried oil. Heat the oil and add the sliced onions and saute till brown. Add the sliced garlic.Saute well.
  3. Now add the red chilly powder, turmeric powder, fennel seed powder and garam masala powder and mix well till the raw smell goes away. Now add the sliced tomatoes and mix well.
  4. When the tomatoes are soft add the fried chicken pieces and mix well and on a low flame keep on stirring. Stir till the masala becomes dry and dark brown. Add salt if needed and add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  5. Serve hot with chappathi or kubus.
