ABOUT White sauce pizza bites RECIPE

Playing with the flavours here by replacing the pizza sauce with white sauce and trust me you won't complain. Have tried to make the white sauce healthy by not using butter & cheese. Top it with loads of veggies and make it more healthy. You can add cheese if you are not much worried about the calories. A very easy , healthy appetizer to start your parties.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 10 whole wheat pizza coins
  2. 2 tbsp whole wheat flour/ maida
  3. 1.5 tbsp oil
  4. 3/4 cup Milk
  5. salt as per taste
  6. 1-2 tsp oregano
  7. 1 tsp garlic powder
  8. 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  9. 3-4 baby corns
  10. 1/2 bell pepper
  11. 4-5 florets broccoli
  12. 8-10 olives
  13. Cheese (optional)
  14. chilli flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash all the vegetables and keep aside. Cook the mushrooms in a pan with 1 tsp oil and salt. Once it is cooked,let it cool.
  2. Chop the bell pepper, broccoli, baby corn. Let them boil in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Strain the veggies. let It cool.
  3. To prepare the white sauce, take oil in a pan and add the flour. Saute the flour till it turns pink and gives that aroma. Add the milk while continuously stirring, mix well. Add the salt,garlic powder and herbs. Stir continuously till the mixture becomes thick. The sauce should be of dropping consistency. Let it cool.
  4. Once the sauce has cooled, add the cooked mushrooms to it, mix well.
  5. Next place the pizza coins on the baking tray. Spread the white sauce with mushrooms on the base. Top it with chopped bell pepper, baby corn, broccoli, olives and cheese.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees celsius for 4-5 mins. You can also add sun dried tomatoes, green onions, spinach as toppings.
  7. Sprinkle oregano and chilli flakes on the pizza bites. Serve it warm.
