ABOUT Andhra Style Green Chilli Chicken RECIPE

It is a dry chicken recipe that is spiced mainly with green chilies and it also appears green in colour

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For Marination :
  2. 400 gms chicken (boneless) cut into small pieces
  3. 2 tbsp yogurt
  4. 1 tbsp ginger paste
  5. 1 Tbsp garlic paste
  6. 1 tbsp green chili paste
  7. 2 pinch turmeric powder
  8. 1/2 tsp Salt
  9. For green masala :
  10. 1/2 cup coriander, chopped
  11. 5-6 Curry Leaves
  12. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  13. For Tempering :
  14. 1 onion, fine chopped
  15. 1 tbsp ghee
  16. 3 green chilies
  17. 4 sprig Cury leaves
  18. 1 tbsp soy sauce
  19. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. To begin making the Andhra Style Green Chilli Chicken recipe, wash chicken and strain the water nicely.
  2. Mix chicken with curd, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, turmeric, salt and marinade in fridge for at least an hour.
  3. Meanwhile prepare the green masala by grinding coriander leaves, curry leaves and cumin seeds to make a fine paste. Set aside.
  4. Heat oil or ghee in a non stick pan and add curry leaves, chopped onions and green chilies. Saute till the onion is translucent.
  5. Now add soy sauce and 2-3 tablespoon of green masala prepared. Mix well.
  6. Add the marinated chicken (discard excess curd water) and fry with the green masala mix till the moisture evaporates and the chicken is tender and nicely cooked.
  7. Season with salt as needed and add some more fresh chopped green coriander on top. Turn off the heat and serve hot.
  8. Serve Andhra Style Green Chilli Chicken with Tomato Onion Sambar and Steamed Rice for a weekday dinner.
