Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken 800 gram
  2. Lemon juice of 2 lemons
  3. Curd 1 cup
  4. Black pepper powder 1 tablespoon
  5. Ginger garlic paste 11/2 tablespoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Green chillies 4 numbers
  8. Cornflour 2 tablespoon
  9. butter 2 tablespoon
  10. Water 1/2 cup
  11. Oil 4 tablespoon
  12. Whole spices -3-4 bay leaves, 8-10 whole black pepper corns,1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  13. Handful of chopped coriander leaves


  1. Firstly keep chicken in a bowl and clean 2-3 times with water,pat dry chicken pieces with a clean cloth
  2. Squeeze in juice of 1 lemon,add in 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder,add in 11/2 tablespoon of lemon ginger paste,add in 1 cup curd,salt to taste.rub all the ingredient well on chicken pieces and mix it well with your hand.
  3. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Add 4 tablespoon of oil in a pan let it heat on high flame,reduce the flame add in bay leaves,cinnamon stick,and whole pepper corns.
  5. Fry them till nice aroma start coming from whole spices.
  6. Now start arranging marinated chicken pieces in a pan one by one add leftover marinade on the chicken pieces
  7. Cover and let it cook for 5 minutes on a medium flame
  8. We have to cook this chicken on a medium flame because we need chicken pieces glazed with butter and spices as well as juicy from inside,we dont want crispy and dry chicken
  9. After 5 minutes open the lid
  10. Pan will get filled with chicken water because when chicken will start cooking it will start leaving water from it,so no need to add water it will get cooked in its own water.
  11. add in remaining black pepper and flip all the chicken pieces and stur for a while with a spatula and cover and cook again for 15 minutes on a medium flame.
  12. Inbetween open and stur it with a light hands .
  13. After 15 minutes open the lid and add 4 green chillies or as per your taste you can add more,
  14. Squeeze in remaiming 1 lemon juice to it.
  15. Cover and cook again for 5 minutes.
  16. Now open the lid and let it cook without lid we need to dry all the remaining water.
  17. When chicken is just getting ready Now mix 2 tablespoon cornstarch in 1/2 cup of water and add this in a pan .
  18. Add in butter.
  19. Now chicken is gettinging dry.
  20. Chicken is now fully dried and light brown from outside and juicy from inside ,looking yummy and beautiful.
  21. Add in handful of coriander leaves and crushed whole black pepper.
  22. Your sukha(dry) murgh kali miri or lemon butter pepper chicken is ready to serve with cucumber and tomato salad for your guest in a party.
