Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup oats
  3. 1 and ½ teaspoon salt
  4. 2 tablespoon butter
  5. 3 tablespoon honey or sugar
  6. 2 teaspoon instant dry yeast
  7. 1 and 1/4 cup warm milk

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the first 3 listed ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the milk, honey and yeast together. Then cover it for 15 minutes.
  3. Add the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and knead till you get a very smooth, soft and elastic dough. You may add some warm water if the dough feels hard or dry.
  4. Transfer this dough into a greased bowl, cover and let it rest for 1 hour or until its puffy. This dough will not double in size.
  5. After this time, transfer it to a floured counter and punch. Knead this for 2 minutes.
  6. Grease one 4 ½ x 8 ½ inch loaf pan. Shape the dough into a log. Place it in the prepared pan. Cover and keep it in a warm place to rise for 1 to 1 and ½ hour or till it crests above the rim of the pan.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes or till the top turns brown and the bottom sounds hollow when tapped. Cover the top with a foil if it is browning too fast.
  8. Slice when cold, or slice and serve the next day.
