Ingredients: 1/2 cup cocoa powder; 1 1/2 cup Sugar; 1/4 cup hot water ( or upto 1/2 cup); 1/2 Cup Butter; 1 cup buttermilk; 3 eggs - slightly beaten; 1 tsp vanilla; 2 cups All purpose flour; 1 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup hot water ( or upto 1/2 cup)
1/2 Cup Butter
1 cup buttermilk
3 eggs - slightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups All purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

Preheat oven at 350 degree. Prepare 2 9inch cake pans.
In a bowl, mix the cocoa powder, 1/2 cup sugar and hot water to form a smooth paste. Add little more water, if needed.
In another large bowl, cream the rest of sugar and butter by hand mixer/whisk, till light and fluffy
Add the eggs and vanilla and blend well. Now add the cocoa powder paste and blend well.
Mix baking soda with the flour. Finally sift in the flour mixture in the wet ingredients , alternating with buttermilk in 3 batches. Starting and ending with flour. Blend everything, but not over-mix.
Spoon into 2 cake pans and tap to remove air bubbles. Bake for 30-35 mins, till done. Cool completely before frosting.
