Ingredients to make Pancake

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar (powdered)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg or 2 small ones
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • maple syrup as much as required
  • Chocolate sauce as much as required

How to make Pancake

  1. Firstly make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature.
  2. Take a mixing bowl and cream together 2 tbsp of butter, sugar and gradually add in the egg or eggs using a hand blender.
  3. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together. Start adding this spoon full at a time in the wet mixture alternating with milk. (I don't use the hand blender here, I use a spatula to incorporate as much air as possible)
  4. Finally add the vanilla essence.
  5. Heat a non stick pan, add a little butter (you can use oil also). Take a ladle full of the batter and pour on the pan.
  6. After 2 minutes check and flip on the other side. Keep the butter at hand just in case if you fear the pancake might stick to the pan.
  7. You can stack a few and have or just have one. Just make sure you drizzle with maple syrup or chocolate sauce and enjoy.

My Tip:

Make sure the batter is not runny as this gives flat pancakes and not the fluffy ones. Add in 2 to 4 tbsp or flour extra to give that dough like consistency.
