ABOUT Lady's Finger Gojju RECIPE

A delicious curry that can be served with some roti or dosa.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 20 Lady's Finger chopped
  2. 1 onion chopped
  3. 2 green chillies chopped
  4. 1 TOMATO CHOPPED
  5. 5 Curry Leaves chopped
  6. coriander leaves chopped
  7. 3 tsp Coconut grated
  8. 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  9. 1 tbsp Roasted Chana Dal powdered
  10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1 tsp Cumin seeds/ Jeera
  12. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 2 tbsp Tamarind extract
  15. 2 tbsp Oil
  16. Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan, put lady's finger and 1 tsp oil, fry on a medium flame for 5 minutes and keep it aside.
  2. Now in a mixer jar, grind coconut, sesame seeds and roasted chana dal into a fine paste.
  3. Take a pan, heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, jeera, onion, green chillies, curry leaves and tomato and saute for 5 minutes on a medium flame.
  4. Now add lady's finger, red chilli powder, turmeric powder,1/2 cup water and mix well.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, add tamarind juice, pour coconut mixture, coriander leaves and salt into the pan,cook for 15 mins on a medium flame.
  6. Lady's Finger Gojju is ready to serve with rotis or dosa.
