ABOUT Kumror Chhechki / Bengali Style Stir Fried Pumpkin RECIPE

Very simple dish for everyday meal , with less spices. Pumpkin are stir fried with Kalaonji seeds and green chillies. Using onions are optional.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Pumpkin 200 gms
  2. Potato 1 medium size
  3. Green chillis 3
  4. Ginger 1 inches optional
  5. Onion 1 medium optional
  6. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt as per your taste
  8. Kalaonji seeds 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cut onions in slices, gather other ingredients also
  2. Cut pumpkin and potato in 1 inch pieces like these
  3. Add Kalaonji and green chillies
  4. Add sliced onions also saute until translucent . Next add potatoes, cook until potatoes are 80 percent done in low heat
  5. Add pumpkin pieces
  6. Add salt and turmeric powder, cooking low heat for 15 mins or until pumpkins are soft but not mushy
  7. Now switch off gas, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and fried red chillies
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice and masoor dal
